Litsea Cubeba (May Chang)
Alternatively known as May Chang, Litsea cubeba essential oil is extracted from the fruit of a tropical tree native to South East Asia. While its use is still being explored in modern aromatherapy, the tree featured strongly throughout Chinese medicinal history. Its scent is lemon verbena-like and although the tree is referred to as a pepper, it is not related and belongs to the same family as bay and cinnamon.
