Marjoram is not always the first essential oil we reach for in aromatherapy and yet its uses reach far beyond its reputation as a culinary herb. Brings warmth and comfort to body parts and clears the head to breathe easily. Loves the gut and eases all its irregularities. A potent reliever of stress and tension.
Marjoram is often confused with oregano and thyme due to the many varieties having similar botanical names. Look for the following when selecting quality essential oils – Marjoram (Origanum majorana), Oregano (Origanum vulgare or Thymus capitatus) and Thyme (Thymus vulgaris).

Aroma: Middle Note.

Perfume: Marjoram oil has a warm, woody and slightly spicy scent with penetrating camphorous notes not dissimilar to tea tree.

Blends well with:  lavender, rosemary, mandarin, cypress, cedar wood, chamomile, bergamot, eucalyptus and tea tree.

Indications: Analgesic, anti-spasmodic, anaphrodisiac, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, carminative, cephalic, cordial, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, fungicidal, hypotensive, laxative, nervine, sedative, stomachic, vasodilator and vulnerary.
